The Sound of Settling

I have finally set in to the routine of summer! I have been working every day and commuting back and forth from the city and lemme tell ya, it’s exhausting! I am really enjoying working though. I have accepted, however, that I am not at all ready to join the work force permanently just yet. I will be happy when next semester starts. :) As far as what’s new with me, I have been experimenting with a few new trends recently (*gasp* i know, me and trends!) and though this doesn’t usually happen, I am really liking some of them! So here goes:

1. The headband scarf wrap thing.

- I love the classic style and nostalgic nod this trend has! But I always find it so difficult to actually do with a scarf… @mylifesstyle maybe you can tutorialize this… However, a cool alternative are gauzy fabric headbands that look like a tied scarf but have elastic in the back! I found a whole bunch of really unique, handmade ones at this awesome store called Culture Shop and they are really comfy and easy to wear.

2. Feathers

- Simply put, I can’t get enough of them. Feathers just make everything better, and I promised myself that I am going to continue to abuse this trend long after it has passed.

That’s sorta like my philosophy on trends: Pick up the ones you like and run with them. If you oppose all trends, how are you more of an “individual”? A wise person (whose name escapes me) once said that our tastes are more defined by our distastes. Therefore, if we oppose everything we have no taste. Just something to chew on.

Until my next rest-stop… ;)
